$450,000 for Man Abused by a Special Education Teacher

Jefferson County, IL: Lane Brown, LLC attorneys Mark A. Brown and Noah A. Brown obtained a $450,000 settlement on behalf of our client.

A man, now 34, alleged that he was sexually abused by a special education teacher when he was an eighth-grade student at Bethel Grade School District No. 82. The abuse occurred in or around 2005, both at school and off campus. The teacher was charged with criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse in 2007.

Our client reported long-term effects, including disruption to his education and ongoing emotional distress. Bethel Grade School District No. 82 paid the settlement.

Settlement: $450,000
