$160,000 for Pedestrian Struck in a Wacker Drive Crosswalk

Cook County, IL: Lane Brown, LLC attorneys Mark A. Brown, Oliver P. Shindler, and Noah A. Brown obtained a $160,000 settlement on behalf of our client.

On January 18, 2023, at about 8:20 p.m., a 56-year-old woman was crossing Wacker Drive at Wabash Avenue in Chicago with an active walk signal when a northbound SUV struck her on her right side and threw her to the ground. She suffered five rib fractures, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and was hospitalized overnight, with $41,474 in medical expenses.

The driver was cited, and a confidential driver paid the settlement.

Settlement: $160,000
