$11.6 Million Settlement for Death Caused by Blocked Trach Tube

Cook County, IL: Lane Brown, LLC attorneys Scott D. Lane and Nicholas J. Kamenjarin obtained a $11,600,000 settlement on behalf of our client.

A 52-year-old woman’s tracheostomy tube became blocked with blood clots, causing a brain injury and her death. The lawsuit alleged that hospital staff failed to properly monitor and manage the tube.

The matter settled following a trial and appeal, and a Chicago-area hospital paid the settlement.
