$1.5 Million for University Student Run Over in a Crosswalk

Champaign County, IL: Lane Brown, LLC attorneys Mark A. Brown, Oliver P. Shindler, and Noah A. Brown obtained a $1,500,000 settlement on behalf of our client.

A 20-year-old University of Illinois sophomore was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when a vehicle turned left and struck her. She was knocked down, and two of the vehicle’s wheels ran over her body. She suffered fractures to ten ribs and her ankle, a liver laceration with bleeding, and other traumatic injuries that required three surgeries and weeks of hospitalization, followed by inpatient rehabilitation, with $827,285 in medical expenses.

The at-fault parties paid the settlement. The claim was resolved without a lawsuit being filed.
