$1.5 Million for Man Abused by Priest Who Coached His Team

Cook County, IL: Lane Brown, LLC attorneys Mark A. Brown and Kellie J. Snyder obtained a $1,500,000 settlement on behalf of our client.

A man, now 32, alleged that he was sexually abused by a former Archdiocese of Chicago priest who coached his basketball team when he was a seventh-grade student at Our Lady of the Westside Catholic School.

The claim alleged that the Archdiocese failed to keep the priest away from minors despite knowledge of numerous prior allegations. The defendants denied that they were negligent or liable. The Archdiocese of Chicago paid the settlement, and the claim was resolved without a lawsuit being filed.

Settlement: $1,500,000
