$1.1 Million for Man Abused by His Elementary Gym Teacher

Cook County, IL: Lane Brown, LLC attorneys Mark A. Brown and Oliver P. Shindler obtained a $1,100,000 settlement on behalf of our client.

A man, now 39, alleged that he was sexually abused by a physical education teacher at a Chicago elementary school between 1996 and 1999. Chicago Public Schools denied liability, citing tort immunity and the statute of limitations.

The Board of Education of the City of Chicago paid the settlement following mediation.

Settlement: $1,100,000
